Mikri Vigla, on the south-west coast of Naxos, is one of the best flat-water spots in the Cyclades. The summer Meltemi blows side-onshore across a wide, shallow, sandy bay (ideal for beginners and freestyle), while the neighbouring Orkos beach picks up waves for advanced riders. A Venturi effect between Naxos and Paros adds 5-10 knots, giving 80%+ windy days from June to September, with schools, rental and accommodation on the beach.
